Autobiography

As a child the radio was on constantly. The duo on the morning show became my constant companions on the way to school. I had the donation phone number memorized for the public classical music station. I learned about celebrity drama, real news stories, and about the area where I lived.
I would imagine myself having my own radio show, and the idea of being alone in that small recording studio being able to talk to an audience that I couldn't see both terrified and comforted me.
Growing up I searched for every opportunity to be heard. While other kids groaned at the idea of presentations I was overjoyed. I was able to present my ideas more clearly while speaking, thoughts that wouldn’t be understood on paper were clear from the connotation of my voice. It wasn’t so much about what I was saying as it was about the fact that people were listening and that I could keep them interested. When I visited WMHT, the local public broadcasting station, at a camp I was sold. I saw the faces that were connected to the voices I had heard all my life and saw their studios that were covered with experiences they’d had on their show.
All of this led up to now, the start of my Signature project. I am excited about what I will learn and gain from my experiences and cannot wait to begin.
