Interview with Chris Wienk

Chris Wienk is a DJ on Ext 97.7, a local station out of the Capital Region. He can often be found saying the word "groovy" on his afternoon shows. He was born in Albany, New York and has lived here his whole life besides a time post middle school when he lived in areas around New York. He was always interested in radio and began DJing in college. He says that the DJ on the night show of an Ottawa radio was his inspiration. His advice to people wanting to go into radio is the standard "work hard and learn everything" but he also says that people watching is just as important as "school stuff" and that you should learn to be observant of other people. Chris says that he loves to meet new people and listen to new music every day but the main perk of the job is being able to share his love of music with anybody who is listening.
